I think that Evo X is a GSR not an MR. But I also think that the driver of that Evo is useless.

for all saying if it was an hr. it has 6 more horsepower then the 06. just cause it has higher revs then the 06. doesnt mean it would make a difference. it would need bolt-ons on both models to keep up or beat the nsx. the nsx looks like he maybe took off first,. but he still was pulling on him none the less. both are good and decently fast cars. the nsx holds up esp how old it is. though it did cost around a 100k plus when they were new. the z is 13 years newer. but didnt cost nearly as much. also was as fast as ferraris maybe an older model, but not new.

Ok, There are some key variables when comparing these two cars, which hp isn't the only factor. The acura NSX was built to a much higher standard including lighter weight higher rpm and plenty use of aluminum in the body, the NSX is SUPERCAR and built specifically for race going. The 350z isn't so much, it's a sports car built in budget 30k for the average driver. The Nissan 350z weighs about 3400lbs to 3600lbs with around 280hp-300hp at the crank depending on year model etc. while the Nsx weighs close to 3000lbs about 270hp. So that's about 400lbs to 600lbs difference between both cars off the bat. Nsx has better aerodynamics and sits lower than the z car. Notice their is a passenger in the 350z as well, (adds more weight) another approx. 150 lbs + running the A/C if he was will affect its performance as well. So a 3400lbs - 3600lbs car + 150lbs puts you right about 3550lbs that's over 550lbs diffrence. To note also the 350z has a poor power to weight ratio. It needs 40+ hp to compensate for its curb weight. The 350z has a lot going against it especially considering how a stock 300zx TT can walk away from a stock 350z. Another issue not sure was addressed in the 2006 z was the heatsoaking. Basically the air coming in the engine is being heated and lowers its performance. So compare what was a 90k special production hand built light supercar built specially for track where alumium was abundantly used in the car and topend matters vs a everyday mass produced sports car built for street on a limited budget for common folks to afford to drive and you can see the difference at least in stock form. Though it's about a 13 year gap between the two cars you can see the difference. There are still other variables (the driver experience etc.), it sounds as if he is shifting too soon not allowing the engine to build up in rpms. People may say that doesn't make a difference I beg to differ. Driven a 350z 6spd manual for 3.5 years in a race every little bit counts. I've driven both ways and I'll let it climb a bit more before shifting. Regardless just based on numbers nsx reaches 60 in 5.2 while the z is 5.4secs. The gap will continue to widen. I was expecting the nsx to leave the z, but I think holding the gear a bit longer might have helped but not much. But still we are talking about a apples and oranges here. I give my respects to honda for what they've done with the nsx.
